Dough Baldwin Jr. Seahawks Football player raised Philippine Flag Upside Down
The Seattle Seahawks wide receiver football player Dough Baldwin Jr. a Filipino-American born raised Philippine flag before starting a game up against the Minnesota Vikings. It was learned that Dough is fund raising a bid to help the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. The flag was noticed to be in reversed, wherein it should supposedly the blue color on top but it was red instead. If the red is on top it means that the country is at war.
A curious fan tweet the football player and asked why he was raising the flag wrongly and that red symbolizes that the country was at war. As quoted by @dougbaldwin “We are fighting the devastation of #Haiyan which has been worse than many war-torn regions of the world”
end of quote. Indeed this is true; the country is facing one of the worst cases of destruction and deaths.
It is nice to know that the Seahawks has started a fund raising aid for the victims of the typhoon.
They have solicited $24,000 for the relief action that will be given to Red Cross in Washington. That game alone managed to raised $12,070. They won by 41 against 21 of the Vikings.
A good game with a benefit of helping the others.
