KORINA SANCHEZ SUSPENDED?
As of November 14 Thursday, one of the most respected news anchors of ABS-CBN network was not seen reporting from the primetime news TV Patrol until last night. This scenario gave rumors about suspension of Ms. Sanchez from her recent re-battle statement from a highly respected international journalist Mr. Anderson Cooper of CNN. Some say she asked for a vacation leave. Who would believe that she would immediately asked for a vacation from big incident like this.
The two journalist cat fight as many would refer started when day five after the super typhoon struck Leyte, Mr. Cooper reported this as quote: “As for who exactly is in charge of the Philippine side of operation, that is not really clear. I am just surprised. I expected on this day five, I thought I may have gotten here very late, that things will be well in hand, it does not seem like that. People are desperate, they do not have any place for shelter, it’s very difficult for people to get food, neighbors are helping out neighbors, water is in short supply, it is a very very bad situation here.”
“I was sure there were clinics several days ago at the airport. The doctors said they did not have enough food, they didn’t have enough water, for the hundreds of people they were seeing every single day, that they did not have enough medical supplies,” he said.
“If any clinic in the entire disaster zone should be able to receive aid quickly and easily, it’s the clinic at the airport and they were not getting it.” (end of quote)
This report of Mr. Cooper was aired and Ms. Sanchez was displeased about it. During her segment in her early morning show in a radio station she commented about the said report of the CNN journalist saying that, This Mr. Cooper saying there is no presence from the Philippine Government in Tacloban, he don’t know what he is saying. The CNN reporter learned about bashed comment from her and challenges Ms. Sanchez to go to Tacloban and see what is really happening.
And he quote “I urge her to go there (Tacloban). I’m sure she has the means as she’s the wife of the Interior Secretary. Her husband’s a politician, I’m sure he can arrange her a flight,” said Cooper, referring to Manuel “Mar” Roxas II who is the front runner of relief operations for victims of Super typhoon “Yolanda” (Haiyan) end of quote.
There and then Ms. Sanchez was seen reporting from Ormoc, Leyte. That was the last time she was seen reporting and now allege of being suspended by her Kapamilya Network gone viral. If this was really true and not a vacation stint, truly the network gave her a lesson that even if she’s a sought and highly respected journalists in her field her bashed comments from another journalist served her right to be silent from the news scene.
